Father Bill Rueger, Pastor since 2005

My dear parishioners,
After much thought, weighing the wise counsel of others, and with many, many prayers, I have decided to retire from full time priestly ministry. I do so with heart felt sadness.
Many issues have factored into my decision, but the one I feel that is the most important is my ability to serve St. Francis Xavier parish effectively.
Over the recent years, there were many things I would love to have done to help make St. Francis Xavier a stronger, more vibrant parish. Unfortunately, the energy I had in my former years is not the same as it is now, thus diminishing my ability to be the best pastor that you deserve.
It is with that in mind that I believe retirement at this point in my priesthood is in order. My retirement will take place on January 31, 2020, and I certainly will still do my best to serve the people of St. Francis in the coming months.
Please continue to keep me in your prayers, and know that I have always loved and appreciated your faith, involvement, and generosity while being pastor at SFX.

Sincerely,
Fr. Bill
